Book Signing – Kibby the Space Dog?
Saturday, November 14th 10 am-Noon
Local author Andrea Cassell and illustrator Melanie Regier, will be at Faith & Life Bookstore in Newton, Kansas to sign copies of their new book, “Kibby the Space Dog?” on Saturday, November 14 from 10am-Noon. Cassell’s inspiration for the book, her miniature labradoodle, Kibby, will also be at the signing for “autographs”. The story was inspired by the time that Kibby had to wear the doggy “cone of shame” after a medical procedure. Cassell noticed that Kibby was treated differently by other dogs, and people, too. As a special education teacher for many years, Cassell decided to write a book encouraging children to treat everyone with respect–even those who may look different than us. This book is great for children ages 4 and up. Also available will be a stuffed Kibby dog wearing the “cone of shame”. The book and stuffed animal will make a great Christmas present for kids and grandkids.

Join us for our 6th Annual Peppernut Contest! Who makes the best peppernuts in the area? Maybe it’s your Grandmother, your Great Aunt, your Dad…or is it you? Help us choose the annual Best Peppernut winner. Bring a small batch of your best peppernuts to Faith & Life Bookstore in Newton between Nov. 27 and Dec. 5. Make sure they are clearly marked with your name & phone number. Judging will take place on Saturday, Dec. 5 by a panel of 3 impartial judges, who will be judging on taste, color and general appearance in both traditional and non-traditional categories. There will also be a People’s Choice category. Winners will receive gift cards to the store and bragging rights for the year!
