Catch the Harvey County Fair fever from July 31 to Aug. 4 in Newton, KS!

In addition to the scheduled activities, exhibits, vendors and a midway will be open daily until 10 p.m.

Unless otherwise specified, admission to all events is free. All activities, except for the fair parade, will be held at the county fairgrounds, 800 W. First St., Newton, KS.

The 127th annual fair kicks off on Friday, July 31, with the Newton Saddle Club’s rodeo. The CPRA-sanctioned event will be held nightly on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. Tickets are $7 for adults and $3 for children age 6-12.

Saturday, Aug. 1, will feature a day full of entertainment and events including Ag Fest from 9-11 a.m., a pedal pull at 9:15 a.m., turtle race at 11 a.m., 4-H silent food action from 4-8 p.m. and free child identification booth from 6-8 p.m., all at the county fairgrounds.

The fair parade will also take place Saturday, beginning at 5:30 p.m. in downtown Newton and featuring more than 50 entries.

The fair continues Sunday, Aug. 2nd, with 4-H livestock shows and the annual Demolition Derby at 6:30 p.m. Tickets to the Demolition Derby are $10 for adults and $5 for children 11 and younger.

On Monday, Aug. 3, the 4-H dog costume contest begins at 6:30 p.m. and the Bull Blow Out starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets to the Bull Blow Out are $5 for adults and $3 for children 11 and younger.

The 4-H Barnyard Olympics begin at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, and are followed by a round robin showmanship contest at 6:30 p.m., a watermelon feed at 7 p.m. and the 4-H/FFA livestock and food auction at 7:30 p.m.
