Delano BBQ is celebrating 1 Year under new Membership and 11 years in Business!

The team at Delano BBQ will celebrate the milestones with a day of “smoke & sugar” at their restaurant, located in historic Delano, on Thursday, July 2nd.

Smoke Master Cedric Taylor, also known as Delano’s Pit Man, will be grilling up a few extra slabs of the restaurants’ signature ribs in preparation, while owner-manager Michelle Suddeth takes the reins for the sugar – mini cupcakes.  “I have to confess, I walked down Douglas and ordered them from Sugar Sisters,” said Michelle, with a laugh. “Why mess with perfection? They make the best cupcakes in town and we get to support another Delano merchant.”

Sugar Sisters bakery brownies and other goodies are regular features at the barbecue joint, which serves a long list of smoked meats including pulled pork, brisket, burnt ends, sirloin and more. Pit Man, Taylor, and his crew pair them with house-made baked beans, pasta salad, potato salad, a variety of coleslaws, handmade and breaded onion rings, fresh-cut and seasoned French fries along with other side items. Many items have been on the menu for the life of the restaurant, a few — like Taylor’s popular made-from-scratch and smoked Macaroni and Cheese — have been added in the last year.

The Suddeths and their team will be on hand Thursday to sling some barbecue and to hand out those Sugar Sister mini cupcakes to the first 200 customers. Hours Thursday are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Friday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.  A family restaurant through-and-through, Delano Barbecue will be closed on July 4 to allow all team members time to spend with their families.
